Curriculum

Ours is a well researched integrated programme for ensuring the holistic development of children.

The curriculum for the four different levels ie. The Playgroup, Nursery, LKG and UKG is designed in such a way that the idea is to promote learning while helping children meet various language, social, physical and cognitive goals.

The various aspects such as,

  • Language skills
  • Sensory and Motor Skills
  • Cognitive Skills
  • Enhancing Creativity
  • Developing Personality

are all integrated and incorporated into the curriculum.  This is done through various activities.

The curriculum encompasses everything that a child learns in the preschool classroom, including but not limited to:

  • Daily activities — circle time, song time, calendar time, active play time, story time, craft time, etc.
  • The transitional period that exists between activities (learning how to walk in a line with peers, learning how to clean up toys and supplies, etc.)
  • Any everyday activity and routine that the children participate in and know to expect
  • Special activities such as art, music, library and physical education
  • Preschool curriculum can also encompass homework given to the child to reinforce what was learned in the preschool classroom
  • Any field trips that are designed to enhance a lesson — for example a trip to the post office to learn about mail or a trip to the grocery store to learn about choosing healthy foods
  • Special guest speakers who are brought in to provide more details to a lesson (a police officer to talk about safety, or a dentist to talk about teeth care for example)

The curriculum addresses the curiosity of the child.  It explains the “what” “why” and “how” that is the mind of all the children.

  • Allow children to explore science and social studies topics while developing skills in language and literacy, math, technology, and the arts.
  • Let children apply their acquired skills in meaningful, real-life contexts •
  • Encourage higher-level thinking, development of intellectual interests, and positive approaches to learning.
  • Give children the necessary skills to solve problems and find answers to their questions in a creative way.
  • Support the development of social– emotional skills such as resolving conflict, sharing responsibilities, and working collaboratively.
  • Encourage family involvement.
