The Playgroup works with concepts by reaching out to the environment that our little ones are in. Therefore, as much as they are being taught, the teachers too are learning with them. The process is two way and this dialogue grows over the year. This method is deeply explored and is the crux to development in a child.
The Play group level is typically the first year of school, all methods are ‘Exploratory’ – by this we mean the touch and feel method. The five senses are induced and aroused so that the child begins to identify concepts. This level also works on socialization as a key to the all around development of the child. Primarily, it is interaction with peer group, teachers, helpers and the world around. Speech then becomes a crucial element in taking this process forward. The child aspires to form words, understand, recognize and identify sounds. And as the year progresses sentence formation is also noticed, short and comprehendible sentences.
The child now communicates and makes sure that the environment understands their needs and desires. Expressing such wants becomes more easy and ‘doable’ for the child.
